Description

DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor Vineyard Coombsville is a single-vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet from a winery better known for its Sonoma wines.

Coombsville is one of the cooler corners of the valley, tucked into the south-east near the town of Napa. San Pablo Bay and volcanic soils give the grape freshness and fine structure here. The site is among the district's best-regarded and sells fruit to several well-known producers; this team brings its preference for freshness over power to that fruit, and matures the wine in French oak before release.

Blackcurrant and cedar, with fine, firm tannins and real length. Give it an hour in a decanter and serve at 17–18°C with dry-aged beef, rack of lamb or hard aged cheeses. It will also cellar well.
