DuMOL Wester Reach Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2022

DuMOL Wester Reach Pinot Noir draws on a spread of cool-grown sites right across the Russian River Valley.

Western Sonoma has been the winery's base since the mid-1990s, close enough to the coast that Pacific air keeps the nights cold. Fruit comes from a handful of vineyards, chosen so the finished wine speaks for the whole valley and not one single spot. Small-lot fermentation comes first, then French oak, which lends perfume and a fine-grained frame.

Look for perfumed red and dark cherry, a light dusting of spice and tannins that stay fine throughout. Pour it a touch cool, about 15–16°C, next to duck, pork belly, grilled salmon or mushrooms on toast.
