Description

Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese Gold Capsule is a rare, sweet Auslese from one of the most famous Riesling vineyards in the world.

The Scharzhofberg is a steep slate hillside in the Saar valley, part of the Mosel region, and the Müller family has owned the Scharzhof estate since 1797. A gold capsule marks out the estate's finest Auslese selections, made from botrytis-affected grapes picked in tiny quantities.

Serve at about 8 degrees on its own, with fruit desserts or blue cheese; it will age for decades.
