Empire of Dirt Going Like Elsie Pinot Noir is a bright, fragrant Pinot Noir from the Geelong region of Victoria.

Sea breezes off Bass Strait and Port Phillip Bay keep the growing season long and steady here, and the wind rarely lets up. Those conditions suit this grape, which gives small crops of perfumed, fine-boned fruit and is now a local signature. The soils are a mix of volcanic basalt, limestone and clay. Expect a small label with plenty of attitude in its names and packaging.

Lovely perfume and gentle tannins. Pour slightly cool at 14–16°C with roast duck, salmon, charcuterie or mushroom dishes. Drinking nicely now, with a few years in hand.
