Description

Empire of Dirt Ink Gamay is a light, juicy Gamay from Geelong in Victoria, made for easy drinking.

The grape of Beaujolais is still rare in Australia, but it ripens early and keeps its bright, juicy character on cool sites like these. Sea air cools the region, which was a major Victorian wine district before phylloxera struck in the 1870s. It comes from a small label with a strong personality, as the names and packaging make clear.

Bright and soft, with gentle tannins. Give it a light chill (13–15°C) and bring it along with charcuterie, roast chicken, pizza or a picnic spread.
