Empire of Dirt Lyra Chardonnay 2023

Empire of Dirt Lyra Chardonnay is a medium-bodied Chardonnay with a tight, mineral line from Geelong in Victoria.

Phylloxera ended the region's first wine era in the 1870s, and it took until the 1960s for replanting to begin in earnest. Since then this grape has become one of its strongest, with fine natural acidity from a long, steady season. The label is small, with plenty of personality in how it names and dresses its wines.

Fresh acidity and good texture make it a great table white. Try it at 10–12°C with scallops, crab, roast chicken or a soft washed-rind cheese. Best enjoyed young.
