Empire of Dirt VENOM Cloudy Sparkling 2022

Empire of Dirt VENOM Cloudy Sparkling is a hazy, textural sparkling wine from the cool Geelong region of Victoria.

Once one of Victoria's most important vine districts, the region lost its vineyards to phylloxera in the 1870s and only began replanting in earnest from the 1960s. This small label, known for its punchy names and packaging, bottles its cloudy sparkling without fine filtration or disgorging. Some lees remain, which gives the wine its haze and a fuller texture.

Lively and fun. Pour it at 6–8°C on its own or with oysters, fried snacks, charcuterie and soft cheeses, and give the bottle a gentle turn first so the sediment spreads through.
