Equipo Navazos I Think Manzanilla Saca June 375ml 2022

Equipo Navazos I Think Manzanilla Saca June is an en rama cask selection from the La Guita solera in Sanlúcar, bottled in half-bottle format at 15 per cent.

Manzanilla is fino aged in the cool, humid air of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where the flor yeast survives year-round and keeps the wine pale and biologically aged. Equipo Navazos was set up by Jesús Barquín and Eduardo Ojeda to seek out exceptional individual casks in the sherry region and bottle them as they are. This wine comes from a sixty-cask selection made within La Guita, one of the most famous Manzanilla houses, where Ojeda is technical director of José Estévez. It was drawn en rama, straight from barrel, as Manzanilla was handled before sterile filtration became standard in Jerez, and this batch had four and a half years under flor before being bottled in June 2022. That gives it a far deeper gold colour than the market norm.

Drink it fresh and cold, within days of opening, at 7-9°C. It goes with olives, jamón, fried fish and anything salty.
