Ester Mandarin Gimlet 100ml

Ester Mandarin Gimlet is a ready-to-pour gin gimlet in a 100ml bottle.

Inside is Ester Dry Gin cut with the distillery's mandarin cordial, made from a whole mandarin shrub with the skin left in and acid and sugar adjusted for balance. The peel oils give it fragrance where the juice gives the sweet-sour core. Ester Spirits is a small Sydney operation and its gin was designed for cocktails from the start, so a drink like this is less a novelty than the logical conclusion. One hundred millilitres is a single generous serve, already diluted and ready to go straight into the glass.

Chill the bottle hard, freezer and not fridge, then pour it neat into a small glass. Expect fragrance first, then a lip-smacking sweet-sour tang with herbal depth behind it. It also stretches well with soda if one drink needs to last longer.
