Fabien Coche Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay 2022

Fabien Coche Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay is a regional white Burgundy restricted to fruit grown on the Côte d'Or itself, made in Meursault.

Bourgogne Côte d'Or is a denomination reserved for regional Burgundy grown only on the Côte d'Or, with lower yields and tighter rules than plain Bourgogne, and it is usually sourced from parcels at the foot of the slope or just outside the village boundaries. Fabien Coche runs the Meursault domaine his father Alain built under the Coche-Bizouard name, with holdings spread across Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie and Saint-Romain. The house style is unshowy and precise: whole-bunch pressing, fermentation and ageing in barrel with a modest proportion of new wood, and long contact with the fine lees. The wine is sealed under a Diam closure, which the domaine uses across its whites.

An easygoing white Burgundy for roast chicken, creamy pasta and hard cheeses; serve at around 12 degrees.
