Description
Fabien Coche Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir is a regional red grown within the Côte d'Or itself rather than anywhere in Burgundy.
Bourgogne Côte d'Or is a recent addition to the regional appellations, created to separate wine grown inside the communes of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune from generic Bourgogne, which may be sourced across the whole region. In practice the fruit comes from parcels below the village boundary on flatter, deeper soils at the foot of the slope, and from vines still too young to carry a village name. Fabien Coche is a Meursault domaine, part of the extended Coche family of the village and best known for its white wines, with red holdings in the villages around Meursault. A wine of this class is made for early drinking, with fermentation kept straightforward and oak used sparingly.
Light framed, fresh and unforced, it suits charcuterie, roast chicken and simple bistro cooking; serve lightly chilled at around 15 degrees.
