Fabien Coche Meursault Gouttes d'Or 2023

Fabien Coche Meursault Gouttes d'Or is a premier cru from the warm, marl-rich mid-slope at the northern end of the commune.

Les Gouttes d'Or is a premier cru on the mid-slope of northern Meursault, its name a reference to the golden colour of ripe Chardonnay grown on its deep, warm, marl-rich soils. It is one of the richer premier crus of the commune, giving broad, honeyed wines with more flesh than the Perrières, Charmes and Genevrières trio further south, and it needs a grower with a light hand to keep it fresh. Fabien Coche works the family's Meursault holdings from the village itself, pressing whole bunches, fermenting and ageing in barrel with restrained new oak, and leaving the wine on fine lees for an extended period. The bottle is closed with Diam.

Broad and honeyed, it stands up to lobster, poultry in cream and rich fish dishes; serve at around 12 degrees.
