Description

Familia Torres Pazo das Bruxas Albariño is a vibrant white from Rías Baixas in Galicia, a cool and coastal region in north-western Spain that has become synonymous with high-quality Albariño. Strong Atlantic influences, granite soils and ocean breezes shape the wines here, giving them their signature freshness and maritime character.

Produced by the renowned Torres family, one of Spain’s most respected wine producers, Pazo das Bruxas takes its name from the “House of Witches”, inspired by Galician folklore and the mystical traditions of the region. Albariño is the flagship grape of Galicia, prized for its naturally bright acidity and affinity with seafood.

This is a modern and expressive Spanish white that captures the spirit of coastal Galicia, fresh, elegant and made for long lunches, seafood feasts and warm afternoons shared with good company.

Recipe

Pulpo a la Gallega (Galician Octopus with Paprika & Potatoes)

Ingredients:

  • 1kg cooked octopus, sliced
  • 500g potatoes
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp sweet smoked paprika
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then slice into rounds.
  2. Arrange the warm potato slices on a serving platter.
  3. Place the sliced octopus over the potatoes.
  4. Drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil.
  5. Sprinkle with smoked paprika and sea salt flakes.
  6. Finish with a little parsley if desired and serve warm.

The tender octopus and smoky paprika beautifully complement Albariño’s bright citrus freshness and saline minerality, creating one of Galicia’s most iconic regional food and wine pairings.
