Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a fresh, finely built Cabernet grown on the estate's Mount Barker vineyard.

The Estate range is made from Forest Hill's own vines at Mount Barker, where the vineyard was established in the mid-1960s as one of the Great Southern's first. Cabernet from this cool region tends to be savoury and fine-boned, with cassis, bay and dried herbs sitting beside detailed tannins. The 2023 is deep purple, with dark berries, cassis, beeswax, bay and dried herb aromas, and a fresh palate of concentrated berry fruit and earthy flavours layered over a fine tannin line.

Pour it at around 16 degrees with rare roast beef, lamb with rosemary, or a mushroom and lentil pie. Short-term cellaring will add complexity.
