Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec 2021

Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec is a plush, fruit-driven Malbec from the estate's Mount Barker vineyard in Western Australia.

Malbec is best known from Argentina's Mendoza, but in the Great Southern it gives a fresher, more fragrant wine with fine tannins. Forest Hill grows its Malbec on the estate vineyard at Mount Barker, planted from the mid-1960s and one of the region's first. The 2021 is bright purple, with mulberry, blackberry and spiced plum aromas carrying through to the palate, and a plush mouthfeel held together by a fine graphite line.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees alongside barbecued meats, chorizo, beef empanadas or a chargrilled eggplant salad.
