Description

Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec is a juicy, floral Malbec grown at Mount Barker in the Great Southern.

Although Malbec made its name in south-west France and later in Argentina, it has found a small but committed following in Western Australia's cooler south. Forest Hill's estate vineyard, one of the Great Southern's earliest, gives this wine a lift of fragrance and fine tannins. The 2022 shows a bright purple colour, mulberry and cherry aromas with spiced plum and a floral lift, and a plush, sweet-fruited palate with a fresh blackberry line and a fine graphite tannin.

It is a great barbecue red: think lamb skewers, grilled sausages or smoky brisket, with the wine at around 16 degrees.
