Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec 2024

Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec is a dense, inky Malbec from one of the Great Southern's founding vineyards.

Grown on Forest Hill's own vines at Mount Barker, this Malbec reflects the long, cool ripening season of the Great Southern, where the Southern Ocean tempers the summer heat. Those conditions allow the grape to build colour and depth while keeping its tannins fine. The 2024 is inky dark purple and intensely fruited, with dark mulberries, violets, a touch of salted liquorice and baking spice, and very fine, powdery tannins framing opulent forest fruits and mixed berries.

Decant for 30 minutes and serve at 17 to 18 degrees with slow-cooked beef cheeks, lamb ribs or a hearty bean stew. It has the structure to age for several years.
