Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec 2025

Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Malbec is a full, dark-fruited red from Mount Barker in Western Australia's Great Southern.

Forest Hill has farmed its Mount Barker vineyard since the mid-1960s, and Malbec is part of its estate-grown range. Cool nights and gravelly soils give the grape colour and perfume without heaviness. The 2025 is saturated dark purple, with dark plum, mulberry, black cherry and a lift of violet. The palate is described as dense and full, with forest berries, an iodine note and dark chocolate, and firm graphite tannins framing the finish.

Youthful and firm, it benefits from a little air. Pour at around 17 degrees with a rare steak and chimichurri, venison sausages or roast mushrooms.
