Description

Forest Hill Vineyard Highbury Fields Chardonnay is a textural, easy-going Chardonnay from the cool Great Southern of Western Australia.

The Great Southern stretches across the far south-west corner of the state, where the Southern Ocean moderates summer heat and grapes ripen slowly. That long season suits Chardonnay, keeping citrus freshness alongside riper stone fruit. Forest Hill, a pioneer of the region since its vines went in at Mount Barker in the 1960s, uses its Highbury Fields label for wines that are ready to enjoy on release. The 2025 is bright straw, with grilled peach, panettone and citrus aromas, then a soft, textural palate of citrus and stone fruit with a pithy, tonic-like finish.

Pour it lightly chilled, around 8 to 10 degrees, with grilled chicken, prawn linguine or a fresh salad with goat's cheese.
