Frapin Trilogie #1 is a prestige cognac from the Frapin estate at Segonzac in Grande Champagne.

Grande Champagne is the first cru of Cognac, soft Campanian chalk whose eaux-de-vie mature slowly and live longest of all the region's crus. Frapin is unusual in drawing solely on vineyard it owns, some 240 hectares of Ugni Blanc around the Château de Fontpinot at Segonzac, where the family has farmed since 1270 and where growing, distilling, ageing and bottling all take place on the estate. Ugni Blanc is picked early and pressed to a low-alcohol, high-acid white wine, which is distilled on its lees in small copper pot stills; the lees give the spirit its weight and the floral character the house is known for. The eaux-de-vie then age in Limousin oak in the estate's own humid cellars, where slow evaporation rounds the spirit rather than drying it.
