Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from one of the valley's oldest wineries, at St Helena.

Winemaking began on this site in 1886, when Josephine Tychson became the first woman to build and run a winery in California; the Freemark Abbey name came later, from three partners who bought it in 1939. The estate's Cabernet was one of the wines poured at the 1976 Paris tasting that upended assumptions about California wine. Napa's long, warm, dry season ripens Cabernet fully on the valley's gravelly benchland.

Serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, lamb or a hard cheese. It develops over fifteen years.
