Freemark Abbey Sycamore Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Freemark Abbey Sycamore is a single-vineyard Cabernet from a Rutherford site on the valley's western bench.

Sycamore sits next to Bosché on the western side of Rutherford, where gravelly alluvial soils wash down from the Mayacamas range and drain hard, concentrating the fruit. Freemark Abbey has bottled the two vineyards separately for decades. The winery at St Helena has been producing since 1886 and was among the California estates poured at the 1976 Paris tasting.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, lamb or game. It rewards twenty years.
