Freycinet Radenti Grand Vintage Sparkling 2016

Freycinet Radenti Grand Vintage Sparkling is a traditional method Tasmanian sparkling from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, released with long bottle age.

The Radenti label takes its name from Claudio Radenti, who has made the Freycinet wines with Lindy Bull for many years, and it is the estate's most serious sparkling. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the family's east coast vineyard undergo a second fermentation in bottle and then rest on their lees for an extended period, which builds brioche, toasted almond and creamy, yeasty depth. Tasmania's cool climate supplies the fine acidity that gives the style its length, with grapefruit, white nectarine and local kunzea honey running through the palate and fine, energetic bubbles.

Serve well chilled, in a white wine glass or a tulip flute. It is lovely as an aperitif and has the depth to carry a meal: oysters, scallops, smoked salmon, roast chicken or aged Comté.
