Description
Description
Frogmore Creek FGR Riesling is left with noticeable sweetness, balanced by Tasmanian acidity.
FGR stands for forty grams residual, the sugar left in the wine when fermentation is stopped early. In a warmer region that would taste cloying, but Tasmania's acidity carries it, giving a wine that reads as fresh rather than sweet, in the German Kabinett manner. It is a style that handles chilli and spice better than any dry white.
Serve cold at 8 degrees with Thai or Sichuan food, pork belly or blue cheese. It develops over eight years.
