Fromm Pinot Naturel 2024

Fromm Pinot Naturel is a natural-style Marlborough Pinot Noir, unfined, unfiltered and made from certified organic grapes.

Introduced in 2017, this is the winery's low-intervention red, made with no fining or filtration and only a minimal addition of sulphur before bottling. It draws on the same organic Pinot Noir vineyards that supply the more serious bottlings but is designed to be uncomplicated, refreshing and lively. The 2024 has a nose reminiscent of Black Forest gateau, with morello and sour cherry, a hint of crème pâtissière and dark chocolate, then a juicy palate of cherry, pomegranate, summer berries and spice, framed by finely judged tannins and bright acidity.

Try it slightly chilled, around 12 to 14 degrees. It is great with pizza, charcuterie, grilled salmon, tacos or a picnic spread. As an unfiltered wine, a little haze or sediment is normal.
