Giant Steps Coal River Pinot Noir 2025

Giant Steps Coal River Pinot Noir is made from Tasmanian fruit rather than the winery's usual Yarra Valley sites.

The Coal River Valley sits inland from Hobart in the island's dry east, where low rainfall, cold nights and a long season give Pinot Noir high natural acidity and fine tannin. Giant Steps began working with Tasmanian growers as it extended beyond the Yarra. The fruit is hand-picked, fermented with whole bunches and native yeast, and matured in French oak with restraint on new wood.

Serve at 15 degrees with duck, salmon or a mushroom tart. It will develop over eight years.
