Description

Giant Steps Syrah Carignan Grenache is a Mediterranean-style blend grown in the Yarra Valley.

Carignan and Grenache are southern French varieties rarely seen in a cool region like the Yarra, and planting them here is a bet on a warming climate and on blends built for freshness rather than weight. Syrah leads, giving pepper and structure, with Carignan's acidity and Grenache's red fruit filling out the middle. Parcels are fermented separately with whole bunches and matured in seasoned French oak.

Serve at 16 degrees with grilled lamb, ratatouille or charcuterie. Drink over the next eight years.
