Giovanni Rosso Barolo DOCG Serra 2019

Giovanni Rosso Barolo Serra is a single-cru Nebbiolo from a south-facing vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba.

The Serra vineyard lies on the limestone and sandy marl that give Serralunga its firm tannic frame, and like all Barolo it must age at least three years before release, eighteen months of that in wood. Single-cru bottlings became standard practice here only in the last fifty years; before that everything was blended across the commune. Fermentation is with native yeast and maturation in large casks.

Decant several hours ahead and serve at 17 degrees with braised beef or truffle dishes. It is built for twenty years.
