Description
Giovanni Rosso Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba is a village wine blending the estate's Serralunga holdings.
Serralunga d'Alba sits on the eastern ridge of the Barolo zone, where older Helvetian soils are sandier and poorer in clay than the western communes, producing the most structured and longest-lived wines in the appellation. A comune bottling blends across the village rather than isolating a single cru, which is the older tradition. The estate is based in Serralunga itself. Nebbiolo is fermented with native yeast and aged in large oak casks.
Decant well ahead and serve at 17 degrees with braised beef, game or aged cheese. It rewards twenty years.
