Description
Giovanni Rosso Etna Bianco Contrade Nuove is a Carricante from the volcano's slopes in Sicily.
The estate bought land on Etna in the 2010s, a long way from its Serralunga home, drawn by the same logic that makes Barolo work: old vines, poor soils and real altitude. Carricante is Etna's principal white grape, grown on black volcanic sand at heights that keep the acidity razor sharp despite the Sicilian latitude. Contrade Nuove means the new contrade, the volcano's equivalent of a cru.
Serve at 11 degrees with grilled fish, seafood pasta or a soft cheese. It develops over six years.
