Glenguin Estate Botrytis Semillon 375ml 2023

Glenguin Estate Botrytis Semillon is a sweet Hunter Valley dessert wine made from grapes touched by noble rot, sold in a half bottle.

In some years, conditions let botrytis cinerea take hold on the berries, concentrating sugar and acidity and adding a honeyed complexity. The affected fruit is picked late and pressed, giving only a small amount of very sweet juice, which is fermented into a lush dessert wine with the grape's natural acidity keeping it fresh. It comes from the Tedder family's vineyard in the Broke Fordwich subregion, where Robin Tedder MW has long run the winemaking.

Rich and sweet, with fresh acidity to keep it lively. Serve well chilled at 6–8°C with crème brûlée, fruit tarts or blue cheese.
