Description
Description
Gómez Cruzado Crianza is a classically made Rioja red from a small house in the Barrio de la Estación.
Crianza is the entry rung of Rioja's ageing ladder and requires at least a year in oak and a year in bottle before release. Gómez Cruzado was founded in 1886 and sits in Haro's Barrio de la Estación, the cluster of nineteenth-century bodegas built beside the railway station in Rioja Alta. Since 2007 the house has been rebuilt around single-site parcels rather than volume. Tempranillo leads with Garnacha behind it, fermented in tank and matured in American and French oak.
Serve at 16 to 17 degrees with lamb, chorizo, roast vegetables or Manchego. Drink over the next six years.
