Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge is a Syrah led red blend from the Rhône Valley and one of the most widely drunk French wines in the world.

Côtes-du-Rhône is the region's broad appellation, running from Vienne in the north to below Avignon in the south and taking in thousands of growers. Guigal's version is unusual for the category in leaning on Syrah rather than Grenache, a reflection of the family's northern Rhône roots at Ampuis, where Étienne Guigal founded the house in 1946; Grenache and Mourvèdre fill out the blend. The wine is aged in large oak foudres for around eighteen months before bottling, far longer than most wines at this level receive, and that patience is a large part of why it has become a benchmark for the appellation.

An all purpose red for grilled meats, sausages, casseroles, pizza and hard cheese; serve at 16 to 18 degrees.
