Description

Gundog Estate Canberra District Riesling is a dry, unoaked Riesling from a cool, high region that suits the grape very well.

Straddling the ACT border, the region has most of its vineyards on the New South Wales side, around Murrumbateman and Gundaroo. Cold nights, dry autumns and granite soils make it one of Australia's most exciting places for Riesling. Matt Burton ferments it cool in stainless steel, with no oak, to keep the focus on acidity, purity and site. It drinks well young and will develop over several years.

Light, crisp and dry, with lime-like freshness and a long mineral finish. Serve at 7–9°C with oysters, sashimi, Thai salads or pork dumplings.
