Gundog Estate Hunter's Semillon 2024

Gundog Estate Hunter's Semillon is a classic dry Hunter Valley Semillon and the white Gundog is best known for.

Semillon is the signature white of Australia's oldest continuously producing wine region, a warm, humid valley north-west of Newcastle. The grapes are picked early at modest sugar levels, then the wine is made in stainless steel without oak and bottled young. You get a light, low-alcohol white with crisp acidity, fresh on release and turning toasty and honeyed with years in bottle. Winemaker Matt Burton also has a base in the Canberra District.

Light, crisp and dry, with citrus freshness and fine length. Good with oysters, grilled fish, prawn salads or goat's cheese at 7–9°C. Drink it now or over the next few years.
