Description

Hans Herzog Pinot Gris is an organically grown Marlborough Pinot Gris made in a textural, Alsace-inspired style.

Weight and mouthfeel matter more here than simple freshness, in keeping with the European approach the estate takes across its range. The family had made wine in Switzerland for generations before planting in the Wairau Valley in the 1990s. Their organic vineyard is stony and free-draining, and yields are kept low.

Rounded and aromatic, with pear, spice and a soft, dry finish. Serve at 8–10°C with pork belly, Thai curry, smoked fish or mild cheese.
