Description

Hans Herzog Pinot Noir Grand Duc is the estate's top-tier Pinot Noir, grown organically in Marlborough.

Selected fruit and a longer stay in oak than the standard bottling give this one more depth. Hans Herzog, a Swiss winemaker from a long family line, planted the vines with Therese in the 1990s on free-draining, stony ground in the Wairau Valley. Everything is organic, and releases usually come with extended barrel and bottle age.

Layered and deep, with dark cherry and spice and plenty of savoury complexity. Try it at 15–17°C with roast duck, venison, beef fillet or wild mushrooms.
