Description

Hans Herzog Viognier is an organically grown Marlborough Viognier in a rich, aromatic style.

This grape needs real warmth to ripen fully, which the estate's free-draining, sun-trapping site in the Wairau Valley provides. Some oak adds weight and texture. Planted by a Swiss winemaking family in the 1990s, the vineyard is organic and cropped lightly.

Apricot and blossom, with a creamy, dry finish. Good at 10–12°C with Moroccan chicken, pork, mild curry or crab.
