Hay Shed Hill Block 6 Chardonnay 2025

Hay Shed Hill Block 6 Chardonnay is a single-block Margaret River Chardonnay from old vines on the estate at Wilyabrup.

Margaret River has become one of Australia's leading Chardonnay regions, and this wine comes from a single block of mature vines on the home vineyard. Old vines tend to give smaller crops with greater depth, and that shows in a wine with layers of flavour and texture that keep revealing themselves in the glass. The style is thoroughly modern: fresh and light on its feet, a long way from the heavy Australian Chardonnays of the 1980s, with the winemaking kept in the background so the fruit and site do the talking.

This is a Chardonnay made for the table. Serve lightly chilled, not too cold, alongside roast chicken, crab linguine or pork belly with apple. It drinks well young and will build further complexity over the next five or so years.
