Hay Shed Hill Vineyard Series Malbec 2023

Hay Shed Hill Vineyard Series Malbec is a deep, full-bodied red that shows what Margaret River can do with an often-overlooked grape.

The Vineyard Series gives the Hay Shed Hill winemakers room to look beyond the region's mainstays, and Malbec is a natural fit. Grown in Margaret River's gravelly soils and moderated by ocean breezes, it produces dark purple wines with a perfumed lift and considerable depth. On the palate this is rich and layered, with plenty of weight and power, while fine, integrated tannins give it a polished finish. It is a wine that rewards anyone curious to try Malbec from somewhere other than Argentina.

It can be enjoyed now or cellared with confidence for up to a decade. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with lamb shanks, beef empanadas or a mushroom and lentil pie.
