HEAD Wines Old Vine Shiraz 2025

HEAD Old Vine Shiraz comes from small parcels of vines up to a century old, with a measure of old-vine Grenache.

The Barossa holds some of the oldest continuously producing Shiraz on earth, protected from phylloxera by South Australia's quarantine laws. Here the hand-picked old-vine fruit is lightened by a portion of old-vine Grenache, which lifts the wine away from the richness the region can fall into. Alex Head founded the label in 2006 and works sites across the Barossa and Eden Valleys.

Serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, lamb or a rich stew. It develops over a decade.
