Heathcote Winery Cravens Place Shiraz is a supple, fruit-forward red from one of Victoria's heartland Shiraz regions.

The Heathcote region runs along a band of deep red soil, weathered from Cambrian-era rock, that growers prize for the colour and structure it gives Shiraz. From its home in the town of Heathcote, the winery has built its range around the variety, and Cravens Place is the easygoing member of the family. It is made to highlight fresh red and black berries and a sweet, supple texture, with oak in a quiet supporting role.

A glass of this suits casual meals: beef tacos, sausages and mash or a mushroom pizza. Serve slightly below room temperature.
