Heathcote Winery Mail Coach Shiraz 2023

Heathcote Winery Mail Coach Shiraz is a concentrated, layered Shiraz from the red soils of Heathcote in central Victoria.

North of Melbourne, the Heathcote region has earned a strong reputation for Shiraz of depth and character. Warm days, cool nights and deep red Cambrian soils give dark colour, rich fruit and fine tannin. Mail Coach is the winery's regional Shiraz in a bolder style, showing intense berry fruit with notes of plum pudding spice and freshly ground coffee. The palate is concentrated and layered, held together by silky tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Decant briefly and serve at around 17 degrees with slow-braised beef, venison or a hearty lentil and mushroom stew. It drinks well now and will cellar comfortably for the next several years.
