Heathcote Winery Slaughterhouse Paddock Shiraz is a ripe, robust Heathcote Shiraz with a concentrated, mocha-rich core.

Among the Shiraz labels made by Heathcote Winery, this is one of the richest. Heathcote's warm climate and famous red Cambrian soils yield fruit of real density, and the winemaking builds on that with cedary oak that adds spice and frame. Dark berries lead, with hints of black pepper and dark chocolate adding to the mouthfeel, and the wine rests on gentle tannins around a concentrated mocha core. It is a Shiraz for those who like their reds bold and generous.

Serve at 17 to 18 degrees with a thick-cut steak, beef Wellington or a rich mushroom ragu. Decanting helps in its youth, and it has the stuffing to age well for many years.
