Heggies Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay 2022

Heggies Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay is the flagship Chardonnay from the Heggies estate, built on flinty complexity and fine Eden Valley minerality.

The Reserve draws on selected Chardonnay from the high Eden Valley site, where the Hill-Smith family first planted vines in the early 1970s. French oak and careful winemaking add struck flint, brioche and subtle spice to the vineyard's yellow citrus, cut apple, stone fruit and fig. The palate is fine and creamy, and the minerality that is such a feature of this vineyard carries through to a long, elegant finish. A few years in bottle have added further depth.

Pair it with lobster, roast pork loin or a truffle-scented risotto. Serve cool but not icy, at around 10 to 12 degrees, and consider cellaring for several more years.
