Heidi Schröck & Söhne Welschriesling Ruster Ausbruch is a luscious, botrytis-affected dessert wine from the historic wine town of Rust, on the shores of Lake Neusiedl in Austria's Burgenland.

Rust is one of Austria's oldest and most celebrated wine towns, and it gives its name to Ruster Ausbruch, a noble sweet wine style made from botrytis-affected grapes grown on the shallow soils around the shallow, warm waters of Lake Neusiedl, whose autumn mists encourage the development of noble rot. Heidi Schröck is one of the region's most respected winemakers and a leading advocate for Ruster Ausbruch, farming the family's vineyards with her sons Georg and Johannes - hence "& Söhne" - and hand-selecting botrytis-affected berries for slow, patient winemaking.

Rich and honeyed yet lifted by vibrant natural acidity, this style of wine is a wonderful match for blue cheeses, pâté or fruit-based desserts, or can simply be savoured on its own after a meal.
