Heirloom Vineyards Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Heirloom Vineyards Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is a structured, classically styled Cabernet from South Australia's famous terra rossa strip.

Coonawarra, in the far south-east of South Australia, is renowned for a narrow strip of red terra rossa soil over limestone and for the Cabernet Sauvignon it produces. Heirloom sources its Cabernet here for exactly that reason. Mulberry, cassis, drying tobacco leaf and pencil shavings lead, with subtle oak and the region's hallmark touch of mint. The palate is dry, long and carefully built, with firm tannins framing dark berries and a cool freshness that promises ageing potential while still giving pleasure now.

Decant for an hour and serve at 17 to 18 degrees with a lamb rack, rare steak or a wedge of aged cheddar. It will cellar well for many years.
