Henriques & Henriques Malvasia 15Yo is a varietal madeira in the island's sweetest and richest style, aged by the canteiro method.

Malvasia — Malmsey to the English trade, and more precisely Malvasia Cândida and Malvasia Branca de São Jorge on the island — is the first grape Henriques harvest each year, and it grows exclusively in the south at lower altitudes of 150 to 200 metres. It produces Madeira's sweetest and richest wine, though the style is never heavy: the piercing acidity that runs through all good madeira keeps it mouth-watering. Henriques & Henriques age their 15 Year Old range at purpose-built lodges in Câmara de Lobos by the canteiro method, cellaring the casks for at least three years against south-facing windows so that the wine matures slowly under the natural warmth of the sun rather than in a heated estufa. Fifteen years of that produces depth and concentration alongside the freshness. Bottled at 500ml.

Ready now, and an opened bottle keeps for months. Serve at around 14°C with chocolate-based desserts, or simply on its own at the end of a meal.
