Henriques & Henriques Verdelho 10Yo 500ml NV

Henriques & Henriques Verdelho 10Yo is a medium-dry varietal madeira with ten years of cask age.

Verdelho is planted at altitudes of up to 400 metres in the north of Madeira, around Ponta Delgada and São Vicente, and ripens late. Winemakers on the island tend to name it as their favourite of the four noble whites for its ability to hold acidity, sugar and alcohol in balance, and it produces the fruity, medium-dry style that sits between Sercial and Boal. Henriques & Henriques age their 10 Year Old wines in cask at the lodges in Câmara de Lobos. At this level the wine is striking and clearly off-dry rather than sweet; with age Verdelho grows in intensity, developing honeyed depth and a creamy texture that its racy acidity keeps in check. Bottled at 500ml.

Drink now; an opened bottle will keep for months. Serve lightly chilled at 12–14°C as an aperitif, with tapas, or with more complex seafood dishes.
