Description
Henschke Peggy's Hill is a dry Riesling from younger Eden Valley plantings, made for early drinking.
The Eden Valley's altitude gives Riesling a long, slow ripening season and the acidity that defines the Australian dry style. Peggy's Hill is named for the rise above the family cemetery at Keyneton where Peggy, of the fourth generation, is buried. The fruit is pressed whole-bunch, cool-fermented in stainless steel and bottled early with no oak, which keeps the wine light and direct.
Serve at 8 degrees with prawns, salads or lightly spiced Asian dishes. Drink over the next five years.
